Trainee Events

The ASHG 2024 Annual Meeting features several events and opportunities of special interest to trainees and those seeking to advance their career.

Mentoring and Networking

Once on site, trainees can network with peers and connect with different career development committee members. In addition, the Trainee Social Reception, on Tuesday, November 5th, provides an opportunity to connect with meeting attendees in person while having a good time! This relaxed, informal, and interactive networking event will help you meet existing and potential collaborators, make new friends, and foster new connections. When registering, you can add this ticketed event to your cart before checkout.

Visit the New ASHG Career Hub!

The Career Hub is a new initiative that offers a dedicated space for career development at the ASHG Annual Meeting. Situated conveniently within the Exhibit & Poster Hall, this space will provide a wealth of resources and opportunities for attendees at all career stages in human genetics and genomics. The Career Hub will feature half-hour career talks scheduled throughout the meeting where you can gain valuable insights from industry leaders and established researchers.

The Career Hub will also be the home of ASHG’s new hiring mixers, designed to connect attendees that are hiring with potential employees looking for a job through a casual and social setting. Those looking to hire can meet a wider range of potential candidates in a shorter time and assess their fit for any open role(s) on your team. Job seekers can network with multiple employers simultaneously, learn more about different companies and labs, and stand out from the crowd through face-to-face interaction.

Don’t miss this opportunity to network with colleagues, explore exciting career paths, and gain the tools to launch your success in human genetics and genomics!
