Submit a Request to Contact ASHG Members

To make a request, an interested researcher should submit a 1-2 page proposal to the Cheif Executive officer (CEO (at) ashg.org). The proposal must include the following information:

1. a short description of the proposed project, including its specific aims
2. a justification for the choice of ASHG members (or a specific subpopulation thereof) as the target of investigation
3. a discussion of the value of the proposed research to the ASHG
4. approach specifics, including method of recruitment and duration of study activities (requestors may be asked to provide follow-up information on methods, as necessary)
5. copies of study instruments, including all proposed questions
6. status of IRB/human subjects research approvals (evidence of final IRB approval will be required before the initiation of any study activities)
7. information on the source, if any, of funding for the project; if Board approval is desired in advance of a planned grant application, this should be noted and an estimated timeline provided
8. plans for dissemination of research findings
9. citations of up to five relevant research articles by the investigator, to demonstrate how the proposed project relates to prior research
