Join us for ASHG’s Professional Practice and Social Implications (PPSI) committee-led discussion on the ethical use of population descriptors in human genetics and genomics research. Panelists will discuss appropriate usage of legacy data sets, the international movement toward harmonizing population descriptor standards, and how and why to use population descriptors in genomics research. There will also be time for audience engagement and interactive case studies, where participants can further engage with the many considerations that arise with using population descriptors.
