Dear ASHG Members,
With the successful conclusion of ASHG’s first ever virtual meeting, we want to provide you with an update on the Society’s 2021 Annual Meeting. Given the continued uncertainty of international travel at this time and the global pandemic, ASHG’s Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to relocate the 2021 meeting from Montreal to another venue.
One thing you can be certain of is that there will be a meeting in 2021 – in-person at a U.S. destination or virtual! Our first priority will be public health, including the safety of our attendees, their communities, and the community in any destination. Of course, we additionally desire to ensure we have an excellent attendee experience. Over the next few months, we will be evaluating the pandemic’s trajectory, the meeting experiences, essential public health measures, and feedback you provided in our recent meeting survey.
Through uncertain times, you can depend on ASHG to be there with stimulating science and the largest forum for sharing emerging discovery in human genetics and genomics. We will continue to provide information as soon as it is available and look forward to your participation in Society activities throughout 2021 and the annual meeting next year. Remember, if you missed any sessions during the 2020 Virtual Meeting, they are available for viewing on demand by logging into the virtual platform.
Thank you for your continued commitment to scientific discovery and for your engagement in ASHG!
Sincerely,
Anthony Wynshaw-Boris, MD, PhD
