We are excited to invite you to ASHG’s 2025 Annual Meeting in Boston, MA, taking place from October 14 – 18. Join over 8,000 of the world’s foremost geneticists for an inspiring five days of groundbreaking research and discussions across human genetics and genomics.
Here is a sneak peek of what’s in store:
Presidential Symposium: Unraveling the Genetic Foundations of Human Disease: Insights from the Past, Present, and Future.
ASHG President Sarah Tishkoff, PhD is organizing a special session on human population genetics that will explore how evolutionary forces shape disease origins and distribution patterns. Hear about cutting-edge technology and global genomics resources that allow us to trace modern disease risk back to variants inherited from Neanderthals and Denisovans. Explore how gene-environment interaction studies can reveal the impact of ongoing climate change on gene expression and disease risk. We welcome you to participate in this exciting discussion that will provide new insights into the many ways in which our environment continues to influence human health.
Distinguished Speakers Symposium: AI-Powered Genomics: Transforming Data into Insights.
The Program Committee is organizing a session on the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) with ethics, research, clinical practice, and technology. AI is revolutionizing genomics by accelerating data analysis, uncovering critical patterns, and advancing precision medicine, leading to improved diagnostics and treatments. However, its integration raises ethical concerns about data privacy, consent, and potential biases, necessitating a balance between innovation and ethical responsibility. Thought leaders in these fields will explore what impact this may have on you as a researcher, clinician, and beyond.
